Nvidia to Invest $3 Billion in Meta as Companies Expand AI Partnership

Key Takeaways
- NVIDIA is investing $3 billion in Meta’s equity offering to support the development of AI infrastructure and agents.
- Meta will deploy NVIDIA Vera Rubin, Vera CPUs, and Spectrum-X networking to scale its Muse model family.
Nvidia will invest $3 billion in Meta‘s equity offering as the companies expand their collaboration on artificial intelligence agents, adding a financial commitment to their existing infrastructure partnership.
The companies said in an Oct. 27 statement that they plan to improve training and inference—the process of running trained models—for Meta’s Muse agent and its underlying family of AI models. Meta also intends to expand deployment of Nvidia’s Vera Rubin systems and Vera central processing units.
The investment follows Meta’s announcement a day earlier of approximately $35 billion in proposed stock and convertible preferred offerings. Meta said Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices, and Broadcom had expressed nonbinding interest in purchasing as much as $5 billion of common shares combined. Today’s statement specifies Nvidia’s planned contribution but does not disclose a purchase price, resulting ownership stake or closing date.
The transaction would deepen the financial ties between a supplier of AI computing equipment and a customer expanding its use of that equipment. Meta’s financing plan also includes a proposed $60 billion program to sell shares of its new nonvoting Class C stock, expected to begin no earlier than the first quarter of 2027. The company said the program’s establishment and eventual proceeds remain uncertain.
